We are seeking a good developer (s) to develop a fast to use streamlined database application. This is to assist in the good purchased process within our IT Company that currently makes use of a single spreadsheet. Each purchase we make of goods is entered into a spreadsheet. That data later gets imported into our accounting application Sage. So the fact it’s just currently one spreadsheet that we are turning into a database, should make it a straight forward project for anyone with relevant skills. The database may grow on to include many other features that support our internal business process and in some regards, this project is a test project for us to develop a relationship with developer(s). Initially we had strong ideas about the development / coding platform that should be used, even considering Access at one time because of the UI speed it can give (As we are from a coding background), but now we are open to anything that can give, good interface performance, is scalable (we have big ambitions) and is able to developed and well documented The attached document outlines the project in greater detail.

Hello, I have understood the requirements. I think one thing that you missed in your detailed specification is that there will possibly be multiple users to access the web based platform/ application? Since you want to update the purchased inventory/ details, there could be multiple users and so it is important to have a super admin access to create/ delete/ manage users. Also, its needed to keep log of who added what so it can be audited for security purposes. I can provide all of this including in my bid - however I still have very less information on the spreadsheet format/ functionality needed for the application. I will built it over CakePHP MVC framework that is best suitable in case you want to enhance the functionality in future - with a sleek interface. I have been developing applications in both Access and Excel for 20 years with extensive use of VBA. I have developed several applications for Freelance clients, please see Feedback and examples in Portfolio. I am UK based, a native English speaker, available on Skype and currently on UTC+1. I am available now and would aim to have a prototype ready for testing within 2 weeks. Refinements would then be required over a period of at least a month. I think the Access idea is sound, not least because linking tables in Access to the existing spreadsheet would allow the database to be developed on live data. It would also mean that the sensible precaution of running old and new systems in tandem would not require duplicate effort Please contact with more detail (the attachment you mention is missing) and I will submit a proposal. Hello, I would be glad to work on this project. I would use Entity Framework as an ORM, so there would be the advantage that you could choose and even switch between lots of data providers, including MS Access, MS SQL, MySQL and many others. For the presentation part I would use WPF, if you want a desktop app. Thank you and good luck with your projects.
