Design me a simple low power mechanical switch

Hi, I have been working in semiconductor industry for past 8 years and involved in multi million gate chips. Also involved in desinging boards and products centralized around these chips. I have designed systems like this for autonomous robots, motor controllers etc and fits into your requirement. In this projects requirement is of ultra low power system with minimalistic area and I have expertise in it as my charter in my regular job is to achieve best possible Frequency with minmal power and area. I think if we can chose a low power sensor like the IR pair with some ultra low power micro controller than we can optimize this power to achieve targets. Ithink follwing calculation should work for us: time required = 1year = 365 * 24 hrs = 8760 hrs. Assuming a battery driving 3 ~ 4 V supply with capacity of 6Ah . Than we can drive an avg current of 6/8760 A = 685uA . Modulating it with some frequencies of order of few ms in a sec we should be able to achieve these numbers. Keeping these calculation in mind , I would like to put my proposal forward for this project.
