Change Perl/MySql Shopping Cart

I currently am using a custom developed Perl/MySQL shopping cart for a site, but it has some bugs in it. I really like the cart and would like to use it, but I need a few things fixed. First of all, there is an option for simple inventory tracking for a product. When the quantity is under 1, the cart displays the text "out of stock". When the product is available, the text "in stock" is displayed. I commented the section out of the code however, because it was not working properly. I really dont see in the code where it tracks this information in the MySQL database and I need help in correcting and fixing this feature of the cart. The second item is a sorting issue, currently the cart appears to have the options to sort the data by Code, Name, Price, and Order_Entered, but only price appears to work even though I selected the other ways to enter as well. I would like the cart to do what it says it will do for sorting purposes. Currently, these are the only issues I really have with the shopping cart and would like these fixed.
