We have an AIR app written using AS3. It needs to rename a folder that contains a large quantity of content. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any obvious way to do this in AS3. Can you show us a workable solution - perhaps invoking non AS3 code (Flex or Java). Our app presently is purely AS3.
Please bid only if you are entirely sure you can provide a solution to us that can be easily integrated to our existing AS3 AIR application.
We are very familiar with AS3 coding, but have never integrated any Flex or Java to our app. You'd need to provide a working example of how an existing AS3 buildable AIR app invokes your folder renaming method.
Note: we already can copy all contents of our folder via AS3. But it takes many seconds (or minutes) for our 200MB folder.
Renaming a folder should be nearly instantaneous, and is therefore strongly preferred by us.
btw - the reason we are doing this is to prevent our folder from being destroyed during AIR update (we push down a zip with incremental patches only). So, we are also interested in a possible alternative solution that changes the folder to read-only and doesn't cause AIR update to throw an error.
Solve our problem, and we are likely to want to work with you on other AIR related RAC contracts. :-)
## Deliverables
Must use published APIs. We will not accept code that relies on undocumented interfaces of the Flash runtime etc.

Update: We have independently solved the problem. The Air function is called "MoveTo". We had mistakenly expected it to be called "Rename". I will be closing this bid request now. - Mitchell
