codeigniter - open to bidding

I am looking for code for a search engine on codeigniter, What I need is to have a text input for keywords then a dropdown that gets infomation from a linked table. I will give an example, I have 2 tables called shoes and gender. Shoes is linked to gender like this : $this->db->select('*'); $this->db->from('shoes'); $this->db->join('gender', 'gender.gender_id = [login to view URL]'); I need to put data in the gender table into a dropdown then use this to filter the keyword which will be put into the text field. When the search starts I need the dropdown to have a blank value
