This project is for the development of an LIGHT weight Internet explorer plugin.
My initial thoughts are that the plugin should be an activex component, suggestions are welcome
In principal the control will need to do the following:
1. A user will navigate to a web page....the web page will allow the user to download the activex component
2. Once the activex component has been downloaded...it will put a new ICON on the toolbar. EACH TIME the ICON is clicked the activex control should determine if it is the latest version...if not it should download itself and re-initialize
3. Once the toolbar icon is clicked it will open up a window (left hand side like favourites) in the web browser.....then using HTML I should be able to construct a form and then feed the contents of the form to the activex control.....for example I may construct a form that asks for a search string....I will then send the search string and the url [[login to view URL]][1] to the activex control
4. The activex control will then use WININET to communicate and download content from the websites....the exact nature of the content is not important...the control should be capable of emulating a POST and GET request...in this example it would take the search string and the url, i.e. [[login to view URL]][1] and POST and then wait for the results
5. Once the data is sent from the website, in response to a POST.....the activex control should post the results back to another website
THE control must be very small and very efficient - PLEASE be a MASTER or GURU in the art of this type of development
This project WILL BE AWAREDED and will result in further work...this is just the initial phase
Please email for questions.
