Database Population

This project is for the population and or update of a database containing 5-6 thousand products. This project will consist of content added and categorized to include the following fields. The actual tab delimited text file which will be used will be available. **Notes:** I estimate that out of 6k products, 3-4k are accessory items that will not need more than a brief description and no picture will be availiable. There are currently 26 Manufacturers and roughly 4500 products in the current database. The current database lacks HTML content and is outdated. I plan on adding 3-4 Manufacturers and another 1500-2500 products. I personally entered the current database by hand and this process took me 2 months. There can be absolutely no single quotes, double quotes in any of the item names or descriptions unless the description is in HTML or this will cause problems with the import due to PHP. This is a serious project and will most likely require a **team of people to do**. There are many ways to do this project to include spidering or indexing sites, and creating scripts or macros to deal with the images.**Please do not take this project if you cannot handle it.** I will _not_ pay a deposit but am open to paying a percentage subsequent to the percentage of project completion. I will own all rights to the database, scripts, macros and everything required to do the job. This is essential because there will be legal ramifications if the database is copied or seen anywhere else on the internet as this is a niche market. I require this project to be finished in approximately 1-2 months. *see deliverables section 4 for more description ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). 4) A completely filled in database file (attached) with the following field descriptions. **Product Name**: Including manufacturer part numbers **Product Description**: This content will have to be descriptive and based off the manufacturers website information. All technical specs will need to be included here. This Field will be HTML **Product Price**: This will be taken from a distributors website containing all base pricing. **Product Weight:** Also to be taken from a distributor website. **Images:** Each image will be named and labeled subsequently. i.e. BH-1 all images will be converted to GIF format and will need to be in two formats first format will be 100x100 thumbnails and second will be the larger or full size image and size will be no greater than 600x600. The small or thumbnail images will all be square and canvased to 100x100. All images will be watermarked.... **Products URL:** This will be the URL to each product description on the manufacturer websites **Categorizing items:** This is in the Marine Electronics field and help will be given with categorizing and subcategorizing items. The current Matrix is located on the current website. 5) Any custom Macros, scripts or actions required to do the job. ## Platform Server is Apache, PHP, MySQL, ecommerce software is a highly modified Oscommerce MS2 with easypopulate.
