Build android apk from existing phonegap source code

I have a phonegap project which was developed by a developer previously and is already live in production. I need someone to run a build and generate apk from the same once for verification purpose. The contractor should be able to take remote session over teamviewer, import the project and run the build at my end and explain the procedure. Android studio has been installed, if anything else is required I will do that. The project will be deemed complete once the contractor is able to generate a valid apk same as the builds that have been retrieved earlier from this codebase. No change in code is required, only I need to understand the build generation procedure. A quick demo of few minutes is all I need.
