I have a dedicated server running Linux, Centos6, with Cpanel/WHM. I'm getting a weird bounce back error message only from AOL: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: (hidden aol email address for project posting) host [login to view URL] [[login to view URL]] SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: 554 [login to view URL] ESMTP not accepting connections Reporting-MTA: dns; [login to view URL] Action: failed Final-Recipient: rfc822; (hidden aol email address for project posting) Status: 5.0.0 Remote-MTA: dns; [login to view URL] Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554 [login to view URL] ESMTP not accepting connections I looked and we are not on any blacklist.

554 error code certainly means it is blacklisted - the 554 is an indicator that the message was rejected as spam. I actually have a client of mine who is currently dealing with a very similar situation also with AOL. What is your domain name or IP address - I can check more extensive blacklist databases for you, let's chat. Also, it's very unlikely but there is a small chance that the error lies within AOL servers itself (unlikely).
