Design/Illustrate a marque/icon for our brand

We have a logo designed for the brand 'Rodin'. The typography of the logo is signed off, but the icon is not popular as it's not clear or obvious enough that it's Rodin's 'The Thinker'. What we need are a design for the icon alone (not the word mark) that is usable as a logo, and represents and communicate 'The Thinker' in a clear way. We have also attached some other examples of the logo that we have developed to date, that have been rejected as unclear. We have no set style in mind, and no specific angle or crop of the statue that we need to work from. The logo can be simple, as long as it's identifiable. We would specifically like to see a versions using the full figure, though would be happy to further investigate the iconic 'chin on fist' look. The client is a financial institution, so we will be looking for a reasonably corporate style, nothing cartoony or humorous. The logo does not require colour as it will be printed in a variety of tones, specifically the colour scheme seen here. It will need to be reproducable in a one or two colour environment however. The logo will need to be supplied in any appropriate design format. It doesn't need to be vector by any means, but if a raster is being supplied, we would expect a high resolution uncompressed version (eps, tiff, psd etc) to be provided. To sum up – we have no specific illustration or design style in mind, communicating that the icon/symbol is Rodin's 'The Thinker' is the prime goal. Thanks, we look forward to seeing your portfolios.
