Build a Website

We have a locks business and for getting it online we are looking for someone who can design a e-commerce website. This website is different from usual e-commerce sites because we require customer to build a package for locks (something based on dell computer concept). Currently we are looking for a designer who can think of an innovative design. Our business deals for mortise locks. Following is the base line that we have thought about the website (of course designer ability to enhance the solution is preferred) 1. Attractive cover page which gives an overview of the website and business. 2. A menu bar which should ask customers to build their package. 3. when on the build package page, following is the work flow - a) Choose the flat size. (Having different icons for flat size like 1BHK, 2 BHK.......4 BHK or more is preferable) b) Choose number of doors asking options for bathroom doors and normal doors) c) Choose the handle lock design (we have various categories of handles) d) Choose the lock design (again we have options for them) e) Lock images should be displayable while building the package. Sort of package contents to be seen in one column so that buyer is aware of package). f) Finally once the package is built customer should be able to proceed for checkout. Key skills required for the job is creative design in e-commerce sphere. For hiring, we are looking for people to demonstrate designs on the first 2 pages through which we would be able to judge the outline how the designer is envisaging the design to be. Of course the above specification is not frozen requirement and we expect suggestions in the designs to make the site more effective (if there are any). We also require the designer to quote the price for completing the design. We like to enter into a fixed price contract and also we would be in for a long term contract so that we would hire the same designer in case of future enhancements (which would vary depending on the market response on the website). We also would prefer a person who is able to code the website with design since that would save us the hassle of getting into another contract however having said that, we prefer creativity over everything else. Creative designs are must and being able to code is secondary but an added advantage. Any questions from designers are welcome and we would be happy to answer the queries. For application we are looking for a mock up of first 2 pages, i.e. front page and the page which would start building the package. Without mock up your application will not be considered. Also our inclination is towards metro UI however this is not a fixed requirement and can change as per the design.
