Build-A-Necklace/Bracelet Feature + Zen Cart Integration

I run a jewellery website built with Zen Cart and am looking to introduce a new feature where customers "build" a necklace or bracelet. They would first choose their chain and then select charms, many of which have options (red, blue, green) or can be personalised with text (names, letters, numbers). It is important that they choose the order that the charms go in and ideally, the feature would have graphics that show the design coming together. The feature would need to integrate with the Zen Cart software, adding up the prices and presenting the information in a way that makes sense in admin and on invoices and packing slips.
