HI,
I partecipated to three or four bid on bitcon. A couple was in Europe and one was in US.
I have the bticon algorithm developed on vhdl and partially tested on altera fpga.
But, the result on low fpga level have as result a bitconin hash/sec low (less than 1MH/s), in that case it is used a fpag 50E cost.
Using more complex fpga the result figure pass to 50MH/s, in order to have high performances ity necessary a very large cluster of fpga or asic.
The large fpga will have a cost greather than 1000E each, about ASIC I am in cointact with TSMC responsible for Europe and they furnished a figure of 1M to 2 MEuro as function of asic technilogy.
Now in order to work with fpga low cost a meddle range PC it will be ok, to work for high end FPGA it is necessary a very expansive PC and a lot of time to compile.
For ASIC, the code could be portable but for simulation it will require a very expansive machine.
Well, I see yoor bids and I am sure to can give you the better support on this matter but the argument it is very complicated and expansive.
I would be very happy to work, but you have to remember what I said before, furthermore consider the development time (you know how bitcoin is very depended by time in this period).
