Convert a javascript menu to pure AngularJS directives

Hello, I am looking to have the navigation from this template [login to view URL] converted over to AngularJS directives with the menu options coming from a file. The navigation should behave exactly the same as it does in that template, when the navigation is expanded then clicking on a parent item should expand the subitems (please see menu1 screenshot below), whereas when only the icons are showing, clicking on a parent should show a popup with the subitems (menu2 screenshot) . It will need to work on touch devices as well. I am looking for a clean design that does not use jquery or any of the slimscroll plugins that the above template comes with, but the jquery lite that comes with angular. I will provide the above template for reference along with the css (which should not change), as well as a stripped down project template that will have angular, angular ui bootstrap and requirejs along with a page that has the current menu working.
