Hello We are an ISP in a small town. We need a Linux script install and running correctly as our DNS servers. IMPORTANT: We want to bid only experts who have worked with DNS servers, and demonstrate through their portfolio last job where they did this. IMPORTANT: The script must meet the following requirements: 1. Install platforms -> Linux Centos,Ubuntu,Debian,Redhat i386 / x64 -> DNS Manager Script Help * How to use : * [login to view URL] setup --- Will install and do basic configuration of DNS server * [login to view URL] ban domain_name ban_ip --- Global Domain BAN * [login to view URL] ban-client domain_name ban_ip client_ip --- Client Domain BAN * [login to view URL] remove domain_name --- Remove Domain from Global BAN * [login to view URL] remove-client domain_name client_ip --- Remove Domain from Client BAN * [login to view URL] ban-list --- List all Domains Globally Banned * [login to view URL] ban-list-client client_ip - List Domains Banned for Client * [login to view URL] reset - Restore DNS Server to basic config! * [login to view URL] remove-dns - Will uninstall DNS and remove all config files ! * [login to view URL] save on - start save client traffic "/var/log/querylog" * [login to view URL] save off - stop save client traffic "/var/log/querylog" Currently we have a script that meets all these functions but use program "bind9" DNS. I am unhappy with this script, and I need the script that you will create use this DNS program: [login to view URL] yum install dnsmasq dnsmasq --help 2. I've worked with a variety of DNS servers before and i consider my self quit versed with scripting, automation and generating configs and/or changing server behavior on the fly; I would like to have a look at the script that you did earlier. Although dnsmasq is amazingly light (and is a beautiful piece of software), I wonder what your criteria of selection is; what leaves you unhappy with bind9? I might have a different proposition, one might be powerdns, which uses various backends; including a mysql(or other db) backend, a bind9 files backend and a pipe backend; yet it is quit scalable! Do you have further aspirations of how this script would be used ? Is it going to run on various machines per users subsets, is the configuration pushed from a central point? are you hoping for this to be managed by users directly in the future? Depending on how your current script is done, it might be a good starting point, I't would be also relevant if you have particular dependencies that you do not wish to have (perl, database, ..etc). on the other hand recursive DNS setup (that might be dnsmasq as well) and/or split horizon is quit a nice option to separate what is considered a client specific configuration. I would suggest the following approach: # Identify more specific requirements based on the environment you have. # Agree on the techniques and tools that are used to fulfill those requirements # Provide minimal functionalities/building blocks Consider this 50% of this project

I'm very good at this. Used to work on a big projects similar to this one until fully completed with the final fully functional product. My code will have comments and will be easily scalable. I believe best script for this would be a menu driven script which will give you full control on what you're doing. Please let me know. Thanks.
