A prospective apartment landlord wants confirmation that available funds in my brokerage account exceed a specified level. That level represents about 20% of the cash in that account, but I prefer to share that account document with a CPA, not the prospective landlord. Accordingly, the prospective landlord will accept from a CPA (in lieu of a copy of the brokerage statement) a simple, fact-based statement that available funds in the account exceed the specified amount, after the CPA looks at the brokerage statement. Landlord wants letter on CPA's office letterhead. (i.e., scan letter, sign, and attach to email.) Rapid turnaround required.
