This project is to build a history website, "Historic House Explorers", which is an interactive, education website to be used by both students and their teachers. The basic idea is that teachers create student accounts; students log in, as a team, and complete lessons; the system tracks progress, and provides the next lesson when the earlier lessons are complete. Full details will be provided through discussion. Here are the criteria we need to match to find our ideal developer: 1. Programming Specifications * Site should be built in PHP 5.x on a popular PHP framework, such as CakePHP, CodeIgnitor or Zend. The CMS should not be custom-built from the ground up (to ease maintenance and re-use). * Site should utilize MySQL or SQL; and utilize the existing database structure however possible/feasible. * Pages must be XHTML compliant, be developed with full CSS, and function in IE 7+, Firefox, Chrome and all other major browsers. CSS should not be embedded with page tags. 2. Timeline specifications * Site should be prepared for beta testing near the end of September. Programmer availability is important. 3. Management expectations * Programmer(s) should be able to read, understand and clarify the operating framework of the website. * Programmer(s) should be self-directed and able to effectively handle/manage timezone differences and/or management differences (all communication MUST be through Basecamp). Design has been complete. Please review the files that were attached to the project. The database has been built. The work is to create the workflow and security layers and build the user interface. If you have questions, please ask.
