I need a front end application to insert, update, and delete records in access tables. The application will be written in Visual Basic 6.0, using DAO to access tables. I manuacture custom made voltage sensors. I want to track the serial numbers of sensors shipped. The units have a model number, which is according the the type of sensor. Each sensor has a unique serial number, there are no duplicates (serial numbers). Each type of sensor has a different numeration scheme, we have 10 types of sensors. The average order contains 15 sensors, which means 15 different serial numbers, one for each sensor. I need an entry form that enables me to enter the customer name,order number, model number, quantity, and serial number, etc I need to enter the serial number without typing the order number and customer name again and again. The application needs to have error checking such as: if the quantity of a order is 10 sensors, the user has to enter 10 serial numbers, no more or less. Depending of the type of sensor, the serial number has to be recorded in its own sensor's table. One table for serial numbers of each type of sensor. The application need to have the following functions: a. find (serial number or order number search). b. Reports; a report needs to have order number, customer name model number and serial numbers from specified dates. c. Print the reports and print each order number with details. d. Password protected. The appication will be used in one computer only, the access tables are not in any network.
