Data Entry Clerk - Purchasing Department

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the purchase of construction materials, rentals, and equipment for successful project outcomes

Secure and evaluate quotes for materials and services and negotiate price, quality, terms, and delivery with both existing and new vendors

Interacts with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule

Prepares and manages purchase orders and follows up on past-due purchase orders

Perform timely purchase order administration and expediting

Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories

Fulfill requirements for field staff, procures and ensures product is ordered at a competitive price and delivery of product to user within required timeframes

Communication with the field, and project managers on materials, rentals, and equipment

Work closely with A/P and Project Managers to quickly resolve problem invoices and remit for payment within an acceptable time frame

Maintain vendor lists

Keep tracking reports related to all purchases

Responsible for coordinating will calls for materials from vendors

Schedule deliveries of materials to job sites

Maintain take-off information to ensure vendor pricing is in line with material used

Supervise the distribution of bid packages in paper and electronic format

Qualifications:

2-3 purchasing experience

Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures

Familiarity of local/national suppliers

Ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing, and delivery

Work effectively with vendors, customers, project management team, field staff, and accounting team

Ability to provide accurate and timely information, projections and recommendations based on specific budget and schedule requirements

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and establish priorities

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to prioritize work assignments

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and quality oriented
