I need a proficient Excel specialist to develop a spreadsheet that will calculate gross pay based on clock in and clock out times. Some work-shifts will start on one calendar day and not clock out until the next calendar day (example- clock in May 1 at 3:30pm - clock out May 2 at 12:30am). It should also factor in specific overtime rules for the workplace, including:

- Weekly overtime after 40 hours.

-All hours on any given workday shall be paid at the straight time rate of pay unless forty

(40) hours have already been worked at straight time. No matter the length of route: example- a driver's bid/scheduled route may be 10.8 hours, as long as the employee does not work any additional hours other than those bid/scheduled, they will be compensated at straight time rate of pay unless forty (40) hours have already been worked at straight time. Hours already compensated at the overtime rate will not be considered when calculating overtime after 40 hours in a week.

- If performing extra work in addition to the employee's bid/scheduled route - Daily overtime is triggered for the day after 8 hours.

Employees will need to be able to enter their clock in and out times in the hours and minutes format

(example: 10:13am). A workweek is Monday through Sunday.

-initial clock in

-clock out for lunch

-clock in from lunch

-end of shift clock out

*some routes will not have an unpaid meal break and will only need to enter an Initial clock in and an end of shift clock out.

**employees may need to use the clock in / clock out feature to split up 'extra work' and bid/scheduled time for the purpose of accurately calculating differentials

Employees will need to be able to select on a per day basis whether or not they worked

1)only their bid route (straight time rate of pay unless forty (40) hours have already been worked at straight time)

or

2)picked up additional work (overtime triggered after 8 hours for the day)

so that the correct overtime rule has been applied.

Employees will need to use the clock in / clock out to designate time as 'paid time off' / 'holiday bonus'. This time will not apply to the weekly overtime after 40 hours calculation. Using the clock in / clock out employees may enter an entire day as paid time off or holiday bonus, or a partial day.

Hours worked may also qualify for shift differentials. Differentials may apply to an entire shift or only a portion of one's shift. Employees will need to be able to select if a shift qualifies for a differential on a per work period basis. Example: The employee works his normal bid shift which does not qualify for a differential but picks up 3 hours of extra work on the end of their shift. The employee would need to be able to select that specific 3 hours of time in their workday to apply the differential. If only a period of time during the workday and not the entire workday qualifies for a differential, employees can separate the periods of time by using a clock in / clock out entry on the spreadsheet.

swing shift – 3%

split shift – 4%

long split shift – 5%

A period is two weeks. Week one will be the first Monday through Sunday of the pay period. Week two will be the second week of the pay period.

Payroll Audit report should include the following and represent hours in a decimal format (example 5.76 hours):

1)Total pay period regular time hours

2)Total pay period overtime hours

3)Total pay period 'Paid time off' / 'holiday' hours

4)Total pay period hours that qualify for regular time swing shift differential – 3%

5)Total pay period hours that qualify for overtime swing shift differential – 3%

6)Total pay period hours that qualify for regular time split shift differential – 4%

7)Total pay period hours that qualify for overtime split shift differential – 4%

8)Total pay period hours that qualify for regular time long split shift differential – 5%

9)Total pay period hours that qualify for overtime long split shift differential – 5%

10)Week one total regular hours

11)Week one total overtime hours

12)Week two total regular hours

13)Week two total overtime hours

The deadline for this project is within a month. The ideal freelancer should have a strong understanding of pay calculations and overtime rules, as well as advanced Excel skills.
