Macromedia Director and Shockwave
The above is the 'short list'. I am confident in my ability to use the above software and technologies.
I make a significant amounts of time available for contracting work. I'm ready for tasks of all sizes, wheather you need entire applications written, bugfixes, or simple design changes. Below, I list my some of my career experiences using the above technologies.
Career Summary:
At Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, I maintained and upgraded an MS Access 97 application which assisted in the correction of errors in new loan applications. Provided phone call technical support for end users of the same application. Also maintained a second component, also written in Access 97, which is used to initially identify errors in all new loans. I provided additional support for a second generation application. This support involved writing reports using Crystal Reports 8.5 to report from SQL Server 2000 data.
Supported IT effort in the Asplundh Programming department to maintain company data and software processes. I used Sybase 11, SQL Server 7, Oracle 9i, and MS Access 97/2000 as part of daily routine. I also used Visual Basic 6 (and other Visual Studio components), Perl, PHP programming languages and some Javascript. Some of my duties included enhancing MS Access databases for customer’s reporting needs.
I produced MANY reports at Asplundh using Crystal Reports 8.0, Excel, Word, HTML, PHP, Javascript and ASP to disseminate decision making data to executives. Some of the reports were published via a web server interface using Apache/Linux and ISS/NT Software
I was also responsible for maintaining data and software for Asplundh's Inventory/Purchasing and Equipment departments. Equipment System applications were mostly custom Visual Basic 6 applications using COM and used Sybase 11 as the primary database. I also assisted with maintaining data integrity for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. I provided technical support as needed on a logged call basis
Supported Y2K analysis at Hershey Foods using MS Access 97 to process data collected from COBOL programs and report impact on other existing mainframe systems. As part of that effort, I helped to convert Y&S Candies' (a Hershey subsidiary) MANTIS based product production application to an MS Access 97 application for Y2K compliance and scalability.
I also modified an existing MS Access 97 database used by the Hershey's test kitchen to add enhanced recipe search capabilities and custom export mechanism for use with their public recipe web page. In a similar effort, I routinely performed updates and enhancements for MS Access 97 databases used in the following departments: Finance, Public Relations, Logistics, and Distribution. In turn, I informally became the department MS Access specialist. Most major problems concerning the use and troubleshooting of MS Access 97 applications eventually came to me to be solved.
I maintained a portion of the Hershey Foods Y2K Intranet web pages. I configured a PERL and DBM based site for company personnel to look up the Y2K status of in-house and commercial software used on the mainframe and desktop PC's.
I spent some time at the International Computer Security Association (ICSA) as a Webmaster. I maintained over 300 separate web pages representing publicly related information from the company's many departments. This was BEFORE there were useful web page development programs that allowed a peer review process. I managed the web site using a self made Access 97 database w/ FTP capabilities to create information templates and to interface with data received by departments. Everything was written and stored in raw HTML. To this day, I still know how to code HTML directly. I created and integrated a peer review system in the Access application to ensure that information received by departments for posting on the web site was accurate before posting for public use.
Also while at ICSA, I started working with cryptography systems and software. I configured NT, Linux, and Solaris systems to simulate an Internet environment to test cryptography products and Virtual Private Networks, analyzing product generated data using packet sniffers and self written VB5 parsing programs.
When ICSA was actively developing its product line, I was asked to create a web based IT Job Bank interfacing MS Access 97 with O'Reilly's WebSite package using Visual Basic 5, Javascript and other CGI languages. The job bank application matched prospective employers and job seekers based on an extensive set of matching criteria. On the same note, I created an online book catalog using similar methods as IT Job Bank. The Book catalog incorporated a keyword searching mechanism and shopping cart feature.
Early in my career, when the public Internet as we know it was in it's infancy, I was involved with an ISP startup. This was a locally operated and funded venture used to establish dial-up internet access for the community. I was solely responsible for the setup, configuration, and administration of the computer systems. I configured servers, modems, and networking components to provide a complete dial-in Internet Service Provider. I also handled technical support calls as needed. For the company's first side project, I created an online automotive database for the sale of new and used cars by auto dealers. This database offered an extensive search criteria to match potential buyers with a vehicle that matches their list of options. This was written BEFORE such services as Autobytel, etc. We also provided web site services to local businesses. I was involved with designing those web pages.
I have additional experience as an independent contractor. This experience varies. I maintain an Linux based web server for a local client. I also have been extensively involved with creating desktop applications using VB.NET
