Electronics started out as my hobby when I was at school and eventually became my career.
I have a [login to view URL] (Hons) in physics from the University of London which has given me a lot of insight into linking electronics to real world applications especially in the field of automation and control.
For 35 years I ran a small instrumentation manufacturing company where I was responsible for the design and manufacture of an entire product range of instrumentation modules starting with analogue only products using conventional components and progressing through hybrid anlogue/digital into SMD microcontroller based products.
I have done just about everything from concept to final documentation and even advertising.
I design my PCBs with KiCad, I primarily use the PIC family of microcontrollers and write the firmware in Proton+ BASIC. I design the mechanical side of the products with Fusion 360.
Thanks to my experience in the electronics industry, not only can I help you make your product work, I can potentially save you a lot of money by designing around the most economical and readily available components with well designed PCBs to reduce errors during assembly and simplify trouble shooting.
