Duties and responsibilities: • Overseeing resource levels and planning of workloads to ensure that the department as a whole is meeting business requirements and delivering excellent customer service. • Implementation of quality control initiatives and on-going assessment and improvements to systems, working practices, controls, processes and procedures. • Planning, processing and payment of invoices within Accounts Payable, ensuring that support documentation is complete and policy and procedures are adhered to at all times. • Ensuring supplier payments are accurate, timely and supplier statement reconciliations are completed and any issues followed up promptly. • Ensuring supplier master data is maintained and integrity is monitored. • Acting as a contact person for supplier queries and complaints, ensuring prompt and professional resolution to outstanding issues. • Performing monthly aged creditors review and proactive housekeeping of credit balances to facilitate refund collections. • Assist in reviewing procedures to ensure the section is operated efficiently, focused on continued improvement and good business practice for existing and newly implemented systems. Accomplishments: • Fraud detection- through thorough counter checking of the LPO prices, quantities and terms. (Detected overpricing, over invoicing and non compliance with the terms). • Successfully resolved long outstanding creditors’ issues to the company’s minimum allowed 90 days period which improved cash flow forecasting and external relations with suppliers. • Handles some of G4S Africa and UK intercompany payments and preparation of the reconciliations by the 15th working day after month end close.
