The primary objective from the urbanistic point of view was to find a balanced merge between the urban area and the neighboring areas, in order to fill in the existing gaps for places and artifacts. Key interventions are: the design of urban meeting space (Piazza Grandi Eventi) in a strategic position to create a new and recognizable urban identity; the recovery of urban pedestrian and cycle paths, focusing on the seafront promenade; decongestion of the port area and the waterfront, relocating the parking areas mainly along with the axis of the Via Velia and in the market area, giving a different road hierarchy to the urban layout; the design of new green spaces; the design of service structures for both boaters and bathers with the simultaneous formal recomposition of the waterfront; the preservation of a place with high landscape qualities consisting of the north cliff.

The project features the review and re-design of the “Ferrovia” square area in Castelnuovo Cilento in the province of Salerno. The area affected by the project consists of a square of about 2000 m2, a parking lot of about 1500 m2, and a playground of about 1500 m2. The project aims at re-designing the area meeting the needs of residents and capable of hosting weekly events and markets in both the summer and winter seasons. The square is divided into five areas addressing the following functions: Parking, accommodating about 35 cars for a total of 400 m2; open areas for events, about 2500 m2; covered areas for markets, formed by a laminated wood structure of 700 m2, areas with street furniture, about 1000 m2; play area for children, about 1500 m2.

The proposed intervention is implemented through the tourist redevelopment of the port areas and the connection of the Port of Sapri with the urban center, including the construction of an intermodal tourist terminal. The first intervention targets enhancing the harbor for recreational tourism purposes and creating a connection between the harbor and the town. The second aims to design the exchanging hub between the urban center and the harbor, where complementary services and equipment will be provided for pleasure tourism and related activities. Key interventions are: “Metrò del Mare” dock, pedestrian, and cycle path between the port and the promenade, design of recreational, technical, and commercial structures, intermodal tourist terminal.

The project aims at the functional review of a secondary school called “Pantana”, located within the school complex of the Vallo Scalo hamlet, to improve the quality of educational services, encourage their use, and promote opportunities for aggregation on the territory. The project involves the construction of new educational spaces to be used as laboratories, to be built partly on the newly built building and partly in the adjacent area (to be renewed). Spaces are designed so that they can be dynamically reshaped to support various educational needs. Space is developed in a plurality of areas with specific educational value and encourages participation and meeting in all forms not only between children but also between children and adults and between school and family.

The water mirror of the dock has been then enlarged to offer more docking options, especially in the summer season. Containment walls and small changes in elevation help to reconfigure the site through a careful intervention of “reunification” of the tears suffered by the site. The enhancement of the cliff, interspersed with small beaches, which follows the entire promenade, is part of this re-design process.

The primary objective from the urbanistic point of view was to find a balanced merge between the urban area and the neighboring areas, in order to fill in the existing gaps for places and artifacts. Key interventions are: the design of urban meeting space (Piazza Grandi Eventi) in a strategic position to create a new and recognizable urban identity; the recovery of urban pedestrian and cycle paths, focusing on the seafront promenade; decongestion of the port area and the waterfront, relocating the parking areas mainly along with the axis of the Via Velia and in the market area, giving a different road hierarchy to the urban layout; the design of new green spaces; the design of service structures for both boaters and bathers with the simultaneous formal recomposition of the waterfront; the preservation of a place with high landscape qualities consisting of the north cliff.

The project features the review and re-design of the “Ferrovia” square area in Castelnuovo Cilento in the province of Salerno. The area affected by the project consists of a square of about 2000 m2, a parking lot of about 1500 m2, and a playground of about 1500 m2. The project aims at re-designing the area meeting the needs of residents and capable of hosting weekly events and markets in both the summer and winter seasons. The square is divided into five areas addressing the following functions: Parking, accommodating about 35 cars for a total of 400 m2; open areas for events, about 2500 m2; covered areas for markets, formed by a laminated wood structure of 700 m2, areas with street furniture, about 1000 m2; play area for children, about 1500 m2.

The proposed intervention is implemented through the tourist redevelopment of the port areas and the connection of the Port of Sapri with the urban center, including the construction of an intermodal tourist terminal. The first intervention targets enhancing the harbor for recreational tourism purposes and creating a connection between the harbor and the town. The second aims to design the exchanging hub between the urban center and the harbor, where complementary services and equipment will be provided for pleasure tourism and related activities. Key interventions are: “Metrò del Mare” dock, pedestrian, and cycle path between the port and the promenade, design of recreational, technical, and commercial structures, intermodal tourist terminal.

The project aims at the functional review of a secondary school called “Pantana”, located within the school complex of the Vallo Scalo hamlet, to improve the quality of educational services, encourage their use, and promote opportunities for aggregation on the territory. The project involves the construction of new educational spaces to be used as laboratories, to be built partly on the newly built building and partly in the adjacent area (to be renewed). Spaces are designed so that they can be dynamically reshaped to support various educational needs. Space is developed in a plurality of areas with specific educational value and encourages participation and meeting in all forms not only between children but also between children and adults and between school and family.
