I am Ajeet Khan from Madhya Pradesh, India and currently working at Experitest (Remotely). I have completed my Post Graduation in Masters of Computer Application around 2015 and since then working as a DevOps Engineer at Startups based out of Mumbai, India and Israel. I am a DevOps with a keen interest in automation solutions. I believe strongly in “Keep Learning & Keep Sharing” and that reflects from my work and attitude. I also run a blog and youtube channel as my hobby on which I share my learnings.
I started working in August 2015 as DevOps Engineer in different startups.
● My first company was Imli Technology (Ample) (a grocery shopping platform at wholesale rate with membership) where I worked as the only DevOps engineer. Being fresher and youngest in the team I started with owning the responsibility for development environments automation. I introduced Jenkins and wrote a lot of ansible playbooks and also provided a web dashboard to run the playbook easily for deployments. This helped the developers and other stake-holders to easily deploy to the development and staging environment with few clicks.
● I also set up monitoring using Newrelic and made sure things are up and running.
● There were a variety of databases I used to manage like MongoDB, PostgreSql, Redis.
● After 1 year, (2016 Aug), I moved to another startup named WebEngage(A marketing automation platform) which I think was one of the best decisions I made. At WebEngage, I completely owned the infrastructure(AWS/GoogleCloud) . I was responsible for everything related to infrastructure.
● At WebEngage, when I joined, the scale of infrastructure was around 300 servers and I have been a part of increasing the scale to more than 1000 servers as the business grows .
● The infrastructure was running outside VPC and I owned the migration to VPC and did 80% of the infrastructure migration inside VPC including different types of databases and services.
● Apart from this I was also managing configuration management using Chef and monitoring using DataDog.
● At the time when I left the WebEngage, we managed to run a few production services on kubernetes as well.
After WebEngage, I joined Experitest (A Web/App testing platform on real physical devices and browsers). At Experitest, I have developed a few automation tools using Python to give insight related to device and browser usage on Kibana dashboards.
I was also responsible for automation of deployment using Ansible on different SaaS clouds hosted on premise in Experitest.
At the end of 2019, I was moved to the Sales team of the company as Senior DevOps Engineer to address the automation needs of our on-premise customers who were not using the SaaS offering.
