ELECTRONIC PAYMENT SYSTEM FOR A BOARD GAME
I have a physical financial education board game (a bit similar to Monopoly) which we has designed to be played by 5 player and 1 administrator. At the moment, the game is played using dummy paper money as the game's payment system/platform. We are looking at replacing this system with an electronic system that mimics the USSD that is popularly used in mobile money payment system. We envision each of the 5 players having electronic device and the administrator also having a device that will act as the server/bank and where electronic money will move between the server and players devices. We would also want the system to work without internet — this system would be deployed in schools without internet.
Terms of Reference
a) Design a payment system that will be affordable, i.e. not to spend more than $300 on the devices to deploy. For example, 5 devices can be 4" Android tables from China (@35) and the device to operate as a server should not cost more that ( $100)
b) Design and code a simple app that will mimic the USSD system
c) The whole solution should be independent of the internet
FLY Money Game has two parts, game pieces and tokens for moving around the board and the financial part where players transact, it is the financial part of the game that will use technology.
The technology part of the FLY Money Game is a Mobile App, which exactly mimics/functions as the USSD currently used for mobile money transactions. The game covers important financial lesson including INCOME, EXPENSES and INVESTMENT in ASSETS; all players/learners use Mobile App to conduct transactions as if in the REAL money game of LIFE.
