Oliver John is a new and exciting online eyewear retailer looking to disrupt the online market!
Our brand promise ‘the best glasses, the best experience’ encapsulates our commitment to intimately give to our customers the highest quality glasses, at an accessible price and in a way which is luxurious.
We need to build a world class website that is able to provide to our customers an absolutely seamless and, not just stress free, but enjoyable and fulfilling shopping experience.
We are looking for our first web developer with very strong PHP experience. The right candidate will be responsible for building the website from the bottom up and will therefore need to have a keen eye for design. This is an excellent opportunity to really get stuck in to a project right from the offset.
The successful candidate will also be required to integrate our system with the e-commerce platform Magento and the user analytic service Bronto. Key to this will be the design and implementation of the admin panel and order tracking.
Responsibilities:
Plan and build a seamless e-commerce website
Use development skills to code dynamic web pages to enhance functionality on the website in order to improve “the user journey”
Ensure pages display properly across desktop computers and most crucially are adaptive to mobile and tablet screens
Implement Magento e-commerce solution
Code PHP back-end components in content management and reporting systems
Use search engine optimization (SEO) in order to create search engine friendly website pages
Experience and skills:
Minimum 2 years experience in PHP programming
Experience with server admin and SEO guidelines
Experience defining and implementing APIs
Keen eye for design
Able to work with front end and back end
Web content management systems
Excellent attention to detail
Proactive, strong communicator, self-confident
