Small Online Database
I want to create a small online dbase.
There is no Design needed. Simple white. like google. no graphics.
Every user have a log in and pass (at front page)
I have designed an excel sheet to show how the main page looks.
More than 4 users can be logged on together, so u need to think of a way to proetct cells.
Every user can SEARCH and ADD into the database after he logs in.
The search option by Supplier or By Title will bring auto complete. When he choses the title the list will show him with prices from LOWER TO HIGHER.
The databse will have the following Fields
1- Date Added (The date the record added) When someone adds a record the date is added AUTOMATICALLY.
2- Title Name (Name of a video Game). when someone adds a record the list of existing similar titles will appear. to make sure we do not get lots of duplicates. for example if he is Typing THIEF 4, I would like the autocomplete to suggest the speeling. this way we get less repeated items for example Thief 4 and Thief4 and Theif 4 and Theif4. While searching the autocpmplete will also help us.
3- Format ( a drop down list of around 7-8 items, we need to identify the items in the back admin.)
4- Supplier (a drop down list of suppliers we need to identify the suppliers in the back end. When we identify the supplier in the back end we identify the BUYING CURRENCY for example Dirham or Dollar or Sterling or Euro)
5- Buy Price (When Viewing the record this will show in Dhs, Dollars, Euro, GBP). When entering the record, the user will enter the BUYING PRICE as per the BUYING CURRENCY and the system MUST KNOW THE LATEST EXCHANGE rates. maybe through [url removed, login to view] or some other servie. Our main price is AED (United Arab Emirates Dhs.)
6- Quantity
Example
If i want to enter this data
Title : Thief 4
Format: Ps4
Supplier: Gameworld
Buy Price 25.49 Euros.
Quantity 300
When I am entering the record i enter Gameworld @ supplier and then i enter 25 @ price. The database will automatically know that gameworld is Euro (as identified in my Supplier list)
When I view this item back in Search or LATEST ADDED ITEMS I see this
2/3/14 Thief 4 PS4 gameworld 130 21.31 25.49 35.42
The databse should be very straight forward and i expect it to finish in 2-3 days max.
The databse size may be up to 10,000 records.
We should be able to delete records too. so admin can log on and delete as many records as he wants. to make it easy admin can search and delete
so for example he can seacrh for all items form Game world and delete these records from him
Also only admin can edit items. but if price change then normal users must ADD A NEW record.
So it is ok if we find the same item coming in from the SAME SUPPLIER with different price points at different dates. it is normal.
We will Escrew the amount and release ONLY AFTER COMPLETION.
