We are a social service agency providing youth counselling service and program in Hong Kong. We would like to develop a free career counselling application for Hong Kong high school student.


Brief note of the App
This is a career counselling application for Hong Kong high school student. The tool is designed to assist users with identifying information about their vocational interest and relevant training.

Career aptitude test is the main component of the Apps. The test is based on the Holland’s theory of vocational choice(Holland, 1969, 1973). The theory is grounded in a rich and extensive research history, is widely accepted and used by counselors.
The instrument in this application is composed of 60 items describing work activities that represent a wide variety of occupations, as well as a broad range of training levels.

Holland suggests that people needing help with career decisions can be supported by understanding their resemblance to the following six ideal vocational personality types (RIASEC):
1 Realistic (R)
2 Investigative (I)
3 Artistic (A)
4 Social (S)
5 Enterprising (E)
6 Conventional (C)

Completing the test helped you describe what you like--your favorite activities and interests. The three RIASEC types with the highest scores are your three letter Holland summary code. Your summary code is a brief way of saying what you like--your combination of interests.
