Develop an algorithm based on apriori algorithm for frequent itemset mining using map reduce framework. The project will have two phases, and each phase will have map and reduce tasks. In phase 1, the map task will count the occurrence of each item and reduce task will filter out those items which have occurrence less than user specified support value and will have to store these results to a file.
This file along with the data set and support value will be given as input to map task in phase 2. Map task of phase 2 will check the data set for an item only if it is not present in phase1 output file. The reduce task will sum up all the counts of all itemsets, eliminate infrequent itemsets and and will copy remaining to the final output file.
