Design a Logo based my idea

I need to create a corporate logo based on some ideas I have for my client.
1) name will be "Jaber Enterprises"
2) attached you will see the most 3 logos he liked, the first one has priority
3) he needs to change the first one in a way to impress the idea of a self-made businessman, without any partners, and that will be applied (according to his view) as the letter 'J' on a road or on a way, his way, whatever...
so what I suggest is:
- modify the shape to be letter 'J' only, and in the same style
- make the shadow looks like a road and in the same time a shadow
- if you have better idea go ahead
4) about the other two, as you get the idea, if you can make something with it that serves the idea better go ahead too
