Add 5 tabs to my wordpress sidebar(repost)

I would like five tabs in my wordpress (thesis) blog side bar for easy navigation around my blog.

The plug in Side Bar Tabs has been installed. However, someone else was trying to do the job and said the following:

After futile attempts I have been unsuccessful of being able to get this done. The php code to pull articles from a particular category are not working. I tried both manually and with the help of a popular plugin

If you take a look at this website and at the right hand side bar - you will see a box that says "Popular Content" along with three tabs. This is what I would like, but with 5 tabs preferably.

Whether you have to write the coding yourself or use the plugin - I don't really care - I just want it done if possible. I have no idea why the plugin isn't working and pulling in the articles like it should.
