Writer wanted to adapt a screenplay into a novella.
Do you want to be in at the start of this exciting science fiction odyssey series?
Can you read a filmscript and rewrite the sparse 'bare bones' scene description and screen directions into prose that enthralls readers?
This is the first of an 8 novel series so it could be the start of an exciting long term project for the right writer.
You will be provided with the screenplay to convert into a novella of approx 20,000 words. If it needs more in order to tell the story well, or enhance it then you will be paid pro-rata above the contract price. If you complete it in less, and tell the story well and fully then you will be paid the agreed fee.
Allow in your bid for:
A readthrough to establish and understand the characters, plot, and ask any questions.
Submit the first 10,000 words first 20% of the fee payable
revisions and the next 10,000 words second 20% of the fee payable
agree final word count
completed first draft third 20% of the fee payable
Final revision Final payment.
Start date: 12th September
Finish date: to be agreed
Shortlisted candidates will have to write one page of prose from a page of script that I send for a final assessment
TERMS
You will agree to assign all rights in the work to me. You will not use any part of the story, any characters, scenes, names, scenarios, or themes in any other work. Nor will you copy, discuss, or share any of the material, scripts, or information that I supply to you.
N.B. Please include links to samples of your work in your submission. Failure to do so will mean you will not be considered for this project.
