  I like the background in this and the banner you uploaded. Could you maybe try a combination of matching colours on the logo?

     Sky blue, sky orange etc.. Colours that are seen in deserts. Also if you can smooth out the line ups on the face and the edges? Perhaps adding a sand crumbling effect. Just some suggestions. Let me know if you can do something lile that
