About us - The Food Group is a Toronto based company that will provide services to Commercial Photographers that specialize in food photography. We have five components to the business... Food Studios, Food Props, Food Photographers, Food Stylists and Food Development. essentially our customers rent a photography studio from us and also our props (Plates, bowls etc) and can also hire other professionals to style the food. These five elements should be the items in the navigation menu (along with about us and contact). Our client base is VERY artistic/creative and therefore the website needs to be visually appealing to this demographic.

We need a complete graphic design for a Wordpress website. This includes all the design elements (color scheme, icons, menu bar etc). The website will be a sliding one like these examples http://corneliuskrump.com/ and http://wiseyeti.co.uk/ . However, this is an example of the functionality and NOT necessarily what we want recreated in terms of colors and style etc. The site will essentially be a very appealing landing page and then some fairly standard layouts for the subsequent pages but with great appealing designs.

**IMPORTANT** Rather than pick a designer at random, we are having a contest to design the landing page only. We will then come to an arrangement with the winning designer to design the rest of the elements at an hourly or fixed rate.*** Keep this in mind with your entry as it needs to be a design that can flow to subsequent pages.

To repeat, this contest is to design our landing/splash page only which we will use to select the designer for the total website. We are looking for a very modern, aesthetically pleasing page. It needs to reflect our customers expectations of what a creative agencies website should look like. The landing page needs the navigation bar and some kind of full size illustration. We have attached a logo that we currently have and you can use this in your design if you wish or even create your own. The logo design is not the most important part of this contest and if you just use ours as a placeholder, that's fine. We don't care about the color of the logo either, so ours can be made any color you like to complement your design. However, it will need the words "The Food Group" to accompany it does not contain our company name.

We included Graphic Design as one of the elements of this contest because we had hoped to see some examples of peoples design skills using illustrator or something. We do NOT want something that is identical to all the generic themes that are readily available. We had hoped for some creative input. Also, it is not necessary to show us page designs for anything other than the landing page. Your time would be better spent creating a unique front page only

Our expectation is more than a just a stock food image as a full size background. That kind of design is readily available in any free template.
