I am wanting to get a logo for my future website as well as a small sign outside. The logo design must incorporate the code "FL510". It must be an aviation based scheme and has to have a meaning and smart in its design. The colors I would like to, at minimum, include are silver and blue. The end product must be provided in the Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file. Please read my comments on Public Clarification Board before submitting your work. Any designs previously perceived as unsatisfactory in the clarification board will be rejected.

Here are some common design errors I observed so far:
1) If designing a symbol logo separate from the code, the symbol has to have a significant correlation or meaning.
2) If the logo design has to depend on a particular background color to make sense, it does not have a good identity.
3) Disproportionate logo that incorporates both symbol and the code; does not help in establishing a good identity.
4) Fixation on aircraft itself as a vision-- you could utilize other parts and incorporate it into the design of code itself.
5) Utilizing a symbol similar to other organizations/companies.
6) Design that is not unique to hers/his-- too similar to the design that was already done by another person.

Looking at most of designs I had to decline, here is my view on them. When you hear aviation, things that people generally think about (airplane, clouds, wings, birds) immediately gets designed, but these things do not have any details. What about a gyroscopic instrument? What about how PAPI/VASI changes their color? What I have seen in most of designs, the vision and the imagination of components of aviation is extremely limited...

The last few posts received really lack artistic ideas. There are much more to be artistically represented on this logo work other than the plane. For example, clouds, flight instruments, runway lighting, signs, etc.

Before you submit your design, please use your artistic sense to make sure that by no means, it can be seen as FLSIO or A_ SIO, anything that is not FL510. We are so used to using the Alphabet characters; perhaps most of us don't see the FL510 any other way, but the signs are for other people to view. So please, no more FLSIO or A_SIO...

I would really like to see more aviation components integrated into the design. All I am seeing at this point are just two: taxiway sign and the Mmo indicator.

Just to clarify, when designing the letters F and L, please make sure they don't look like the letter A and underscore _. Also, please make sure that 510 does not look anything close to "S" "I" "O'.
