I qualified as an academic editor through Scribbr Academy in 2019. As a researcher at Macquarie University (Sydney), I successfully completed and published several projects in both English and Italian and built up a solid experience as a researcher and university teacher. I also edit fiction and websites content of all sorts, and I won a literary contest prize with a critique on All about my mother, by Pedro Almodóvar, which was published in a book.
As an academic editor, I edit students’ papers, journal articles, and book chapters in American, Australian, and British English. My interdisciplinary background in the humanities and the social sciences allows me to spot subtleties and inconsistent logical inferences in a great variety of texts and provide appropriate advice on technical jargon and in-depth stylistic improvement concerning structure and argument flow in all kinds of works, including technical papers from native and non-native students and academics in the hard sciences.
I approach my work enthusiastically and I succeed in providing a fast and top-quality service. In my spare time, I travel and write about it.
I have worked as an academic and published in English as well as in Italian. I hold a PhD in sociology (Macquarie) in cotutelle with philosophy (Florence). I hold a PG certificate in applied anthropology (Macquarie) and one in project management (from SIOI: Italian Society for International Organization). My IELTS score is 8/9. I have attended a course on how to write a blog, including SEO-friendly content. I have taught methods of social research, critical thinking, and intercultural communication; I have done field-work across three continents, as well as volunteer work in remote communities both in Australia and Tanzania. I love travelling, doing research and writing. I have also worked as an interpreter and as a translator, as well as in sales. I am creative, punctual, precise, passionate and I have a strong work ethic.
