I have to say that the whole "get certified" requirement is preposterous. If a graduate degree in English (and the several thousand USD that went into it) is insufficient evidence of my facility with US English, then a $5 "skills certification" hasn't a chance in ... well you know what I mean. Please forgive my harangue; I should just pay the five dollars and take the dumb test to preclude further peremptory preclusions from bidding.
Alas, I will stand my ground, and I will continue to hope some interesting projects will find me nonetheless. Truly, though, I would like to work. Ranting on a user profile page that few are likely to find, let alone read, is hardly nourishing.
All that being stated, I'm a college English instructor by training and trade. I'm freelancing 1) to support a professional "crossover" from traditional academia to e-learning and content writing in business and tech, and 2) because I like this work. It's fun ;-)
I look forward to working with you.
