I have a friend you paid a developer to make a site in flash of his resort.
I would like to know if this site (see link below - still confidential since it's being developed) can be automated with XML.
The site shell (under development) to be used is the following:
In other words, can I read off the following information out of XML files:
1) Top line menu items
2) Second line menu items - or sub-menus
3) Language options - just need to call similar pages but reading off different language XML file
3) Image slideshows - I want the navigation (left and right) to be automatic and that no matter the size of the image the user sees only the current fixed viewing window but he can move up, down, left and right on the image (see the example in the link I provide for you).
4) Text areas - have these descriptive areas read off XML files and possibility to read off image URLs so it can show images with the text as needed.
5) Menu options be able to call an iframe webpage so I can have a "mail form page" (ex. contacts) programmed in asp, for example...
6) Customizable header (logo) and footer (logo and text) reading off an XML file
7) Background music read of an XML file...
8) Background and text colors read from XML file
9) Menu options be able to link to a pdf file, or a pupup html, or ASP page, for example....
10) Where you see "Fotos" on the bottom right side, I wish the ability to list the slideshow images and to be able to click and open a popup with them so anyone can download... see what I mean?
I think this is quite a challange but as I was looking at the example below I saw potential to make it flexible.
You you have more ideas please feel free to suggest!
Please let me know if you are eventually interested in this challenge to turn this site shell into a customizable flash site using XML.
If so, let me know your costs and timing.
Cheers!
