I am building an asset tracking system that uses QR codes in tags to query a database. the database should be mysql, it needs to work alongside the mysql database in wordpress the act of scanning a qrcode should trigger a lookup, then an email to the address in the record alerting them that the code has been scanned. along with details about the asset that was scanned the other part is that there should be the concept of tags moving between owners.. allowing a new owner to request ownership of an asset. this is rough, I have many of the details worked out, but I wanted to choose a partner for this project first.

Good day! I understand what you are trying to do. This system you were thinking of should be very usefull to your current work. And what you are asking is doable. Shouldn't be a problem to design a QRcode format that do some queries in a database and also trigger some email events to clients. And you choice of wordpress is very suitable to me. I also consider wordpress very convenient to work with. The part with the tags it's seems to look similar to an ERP sistem but let's try QR part first and will see it later.
