I need this done ASAP...like today. I already have a working version that some developers on Odesk managed to totally screw up and not do like I wanted. I have a working product with a complete database. The last developer had no clue how AJAX works and did not code the site properly. In the last revision the last developer did clean up the page and make it look nice...but set it up as a meta refresh which totally screwed it up instead of using true AJAX to update it.
I need someone to modify this page to make it trully use AJAX and work like out lined below. I will send you the page and the code behind with the database and I'll need you to finish the page and send it back.
Here is what we have:
I need a single page website that helps us keep status of computers in our shop. It will pull from several tables in the
database (techs, computers, status's). Page will have a table sorted by time entered in the system and grouped by status.
On the top of the page is some filter checkboxes. These allow you to override the sort order, filter by the tech working on the machine, etc. Clicking any of these should cause the page to reload and should change the url to use post variables. This way if a tech wants his own custom filtered page he can save the shortcut and reload it every day.
Table will have the following columns:
Date Entered: Time the computer is put in the system (auto populated in the DB when the entry is added)
Customer: SImple text field with customer name
Status: Drop down box with current status (options loaded from status table)
Tech: Drop down with current tech working it.
Note: Text box with notes....
etc...
Below the table is a form to originally input a computer with a save button.
The page should behave as follows:
Any filter checkboxes should reload the page and be saved as post variables (ex [login to view URL])
Any changes to the table (drop downs, text boxes, etc) should be saved by ajax.
Clicking the add button at the bottom form will save the new customer and reload the page.
NOTE!!! This page can be open on several computers...no one will ever be updating the same field at the same time, but simply saving the whole table will over write any changes made on another screen. Saves should only be done when a field is changed and only save that field!
I've attached a screenshot of the old ugly version we have to use right now since the latest version that uses CSS is broken. I'll send you both copies though so you can work from them.
We have a lot more AJAX .net work coming so if you prove to be a good worker then we will send a lot more work your way!
