Automated tracking of skydiving rigs -- 2

I am helping my Dropzone put together a spreadsheet so they can keep count how many times a student rig or tandem rig has been jumped. This is important so they can keep an eye on lines and canopies etc for wear and tear.

I've put together a spreadsheet that uses a macro to automatically tally the rig and harness and associated items such as lines and pilot chute each time the rig has been jumped. In the attached screenshot the Packed row is the number of times the rig has been jumped then repacked each day. A macro adds the Packed number to the numbers in the columns. Note: not every rig gets used each day, and the different parts of the rig might have different numbers if the riggers changes or moves parts between rigs.

To further automate the updating of the times a rig has been jumped, we want to scan a barcode on each rig after it has been repacked, and that will automatically add the number to the Packed row on the spreadsheet to show how many times the rig has been repacked (i.e. how many times it's been jumped that day) rather than the packers add the number to the spreadsheet manually. What we need is to get the result from the Bluetooth or wireless scanner to the correct rig number on the spreadsheet with as few steps as possible. The packer will scan the rig after he/she finishes packing the chute back in the rig and the scaner will send the scan to the laptop sitting about 50mts away.

In addition, we want to have a warning come up on the spreadsheet for every 45-55 jumps for the Container & Harness so that the rigger can pull out the rig and check it for wear.

A handheld scanner is intended to be used to scan the barcodes on the rigs, but the output is difficult to automatically put into the Excel sheets without a lot of manual work. This pretty much where we are stuck.

In brief then what we need is to scan the barcode on the rig (sample attached) via Bluetooth or wireless scanner or scanner app and get the result to the correct rig number on the Packed row on the spreadsheet with as few steps as possible. The Macro is then run to add the jump numbers to the Rig columns and bring up warnings for every time a rig gets to 50 jumps. E.g. A warning (cell would change colour) at 45-55, 95-105, 145-155 195-205 etc jumps

If you quote for this job please provide confirmation you can arrange it so the scanner results will end up in the correct column without a lot of manipulation by the user of the scanner. If there is too much work for the user to do then they might as well just add the jump numbers manually.
