Video editor

We're looking for a dedicated Video Editor experienced preferably in the eLearning sector with an understanding of eCommerce who will edit our short and long-form videos.

As our Video Editor, you’ll possess all the right skills and deep insight into the best use of video and audio editing techniques

You will handle everything video, working closely with the CEO and COO, and our contributors of content taking the lead and are the first point of call on all issues video-based, bringing your creative mindset and skills to the forefront.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to be an influential role in the business, as a start-up, you will be integral to the foundations of the company whilst building on your video editing skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Revising content for best performance

• Editing short and long-form videos, editing compilations, optimising videos, adding lower thirds and subtitles, and uploading to a schedule.

• Colour-correcting edits, audio post-production, and delivering assets to a range of technical specifications

• Source and utilising an archive library and third-party footage to create content

• Day-to-day liaison with CEO and COO

• Asset management and archiving of content

• Ensuring good quality in cutting and basic sound adjustments

• Exporting video files in the required format

Desired Experience & Skills:

• Proficiency with Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, In-Design, Audition, and Photoshop experience.

• Video editing skills and strong knowledge of video and graphic applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro, and Affect Effects. (Animations, Subtitling, Lower thirds, and transitions are a part of every edit)

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise workload and should remain calm under pressure

• Proficiency in photography and equipment

• Strong knowledge of different video formats, video compression, sound/video synchronisation, downloading from an archive system

• Great English communication skills, the role requires constant communication with cross-functional partners.

Impeccable spelling and grammar and grasp of the English language.

• Ability to effectively proof your own work and that of the team (written English, quality of work, detailing, alignment etc.)

• Working on briefs and the ability to develop our brand guidelines further.

• Experience using Trello or another workflow tool

• Knowledge of media law, including copyright and consent, and ethical considerations, is also desirable

• Great attention to detail.

• Demonstrate creativity and the ability to introduce and deliver new ideas.

• Fast internet connection (150mbps+ preferable)

• Experience upscaling content (lower resolutions to 4K)

• Fixing raw grainy footage

• Using extremely high res image files in After Effects
