Import Excel:

Must be done in VB 2010 & work in Win XP to Win 10

Open program with Main sub procedure in Module [url removed, login to view], get settings from ini file, & Load [url removed, login to view]


1. Create a form ([url removed, login to view])to read 8 settings from an ini file

Show them in a text box and be able to edit save them back to the ini file

Use these 4 sections

- User selects Excel file (From Common dialog box)

- User Selects Worksheet the data is in (From Common dialog box)

- User selects header row (If none, Map to Database)

*** user selects Data start row

- User selects number of rows to be added

- User selects which columns to add

- User supplies the "From" field text in the database. (Used to identify the source of data)

*** If the database does not exist Create it

***Default is [url removed, login to view] in [url removed, login to view] and user can change name, and save location

(Copy template database to working database )

Copy [url removed, login to view] to [url removed, login to view](Access 2003) or [url removed, login to view] to [url removed, login to view](Access 2007)

Access 2013 db should be available for future use

***User selects Access database Version and table to import to. (User can choose New)

- If database and or table does not exist yet, the program creates it.

- The program will check whether or not the columns (in the Excel) correspond to the columns in the Access database.

- The program will add all the data in the Excel sheet to the Access Database. (Add new fields to the table)

*** Trim all the fields imported to the database. (This removes leading and trailing spaces)

*** view the Table on the main form, and be able to edit the table.

Be able to Run in taskbar and start when windows starts
