(My mother was German.
My father was a US American translator.
Inevitably, I became bilingual)
1969 first freelance translations
(My most prominent paying client was Billy Graham.)
1971 graduate from Frankfurt American High School
(I skipped one year.)
1973 completed four semesters at the Univerisity of Maryland,
Munich Campus
(This was necessary in order to gain access
to the free German universities.)
1976 Certified as a German\English translator
by the Chamber of Commerce
in Wiesbaden, Germany
1978 MSc in Math from the Technical University
of Darmstadt, Germany
1978-1991 worked mainly as a programmer in Germany
and did some translations on the side
1991 appointed as a tenured official of the EU Commission
assigned to Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the EU
(I worked mainly the improvement of data quality
and did some translating and proofreading on the side.
2004 MA in EU Law from the University of Leicester in the UK
(I followed the distance learning course.)
2018 retired, looking to remain active and alert
