Hi I'm an Access, VBA developer. I worked for Schaeffler for 8 years during which time I extracted data from SAP using RFC function calls. I extracted data to create a Sales Tracking tool primarily from two tables LIKP and LIPS. If the data you require are from Transparent tables I can do the job. The data I was extracting originally took 50+ hours. After careful consideration, I managed to narrow this down to 50 minutes. The reason for why the extraction took so long was due to the relationship between the two tables. LIKP contained the invoice header data. To match this to the LIPS (detail) I could only link on the Delivery Note Number, applying a filter to each LIPS record was the reason it took so long to download. What I needed was to extract LIPS records in large batches, but to do this meant importing over a 400 million records. Clearly Access couldn't handle this, instead I batch updated SQL tables using Access as the intermediate source. Even using SQL I didn't want to import 95% of the records from countries around the world I had no interest in (only western european countries). I wanted to use the warehouse the stock was delivered from but again there was no direct correlation. To cut a long story short I narrowed the warehouses that shipped over 95% of the countries I was interested in. From there I was left with 4000 delivery notes unaccounted for. At this stage I then used my original method of extracted the LIPS data by delivery notes.
