Script to update special prices in Opencart database

Hello, I would like to request support with creating a script in Python or Perl that: 1) Updates special prices in an Opencart 1.5.6.4 database (mySQL), based on a input text file (CSV) 2) Create and sent a html mail report with the updates performed 3) Extra option (parameter) to display all products in the Opencart database using a Special price. 4) Extra option (parameter) to remove all Special prices in the Opencart database The script will be used on a Linux server (CentOS 6) via a scheduled task (cron) Required actions: 1) - Read an import CSV text file that contains: # unique product number, # special price, # start date, # end date - Verify for each record in the CSV text file if a product exists in the Opencart database (table oc_product) by comparing unique product number. ('model' field is used for this) - Use the data from this product/record, and lookup if there is a related record for special price in the oc_product_special / oc_product_special tables - if the record exists: update record with the special price, start date and end date - if the record does not exist: create a new record with the special price, start date and end date - Verify/test if the special price is visible on the website 2) Create and send a mail report with the updates (#1) in special prices performed, using a table that contains: # unique product number # product short description # normal price # special price # start/end date of special price 3) Create a report that contains all products in the database with a Special price assigned, details: # unique product number # product short description # normal price # special price # start/end date of special price 4) - Remove all existing Special prices in the database - Verify/test special prices are removed on the website NB. Experience with Python/Perl, MySQL and Open Cart are required for this project.
