My recent project was using OpenCv() to get cloud point of each picture taken from different angle of an object, stores each pictures cloud points in an array, and then creating a 3D mesh from that cloud points. Same technique can be used for detecting foot prints of car/wheel from sand/desert video or image, confident to be a perfect fit for this project.
