We're seeking a long term and experienced Laravel developer for our popular marketplace site.
The platform allows users to buy and sell lingerie.
The functionality of the site is simple. Sellers pay a fee which allows them to open a shop, upload products and a gallery. Buyers purchase coins, which they spend on the site to contact sellers and unlock galleries.
We launched the site around 5 years ago, since then it has gained a lot of recognition and traction. Currently we are receiving around 6000 visitors a day, with hundreds of new users registering, adding images and products each day.
We currently use the following plugins:
Woocommerce
Woocommerce Subscriptions
Woocommerce Shops & Filter
Woocommerce Multilingual
Front End PM
We're now looking to change the core framework of the site from WordPress to Lavarel. Ideally, we'd like this to be a gradual change, so we can continue developing new features while we make the change to Lavarel. It would be great to hear your thoughts on this.
Here's a list of the features that we're looking to implement:
Live Chat
We should be able to see when sellers are online on the site, buyers should then be able to spend coins to chat with the in real-time.
Global Feed
We would like a feed on the site (similar to a facebook wall) where we can see the activity on the site e.g sellers uploaded a new product, buyer has spent X amount of coins, seller has uploaded new gallery image.
Call/Video Chat
Buyers should be able to spend coins on calls to sellers. They should be able to schedule a time and length of call (pricing will vary depending on length) and video or voice call them through the site. Similar to the functionality here on Upwork.
These are just a few of the features that we would like to implement. It would be great to hear your thoughts on implementing such features with WordPress.
There are also daily tasks that would need to be carried out:
Uploading blog posts
Troubleshooting customer queries with customer service assistant.
In terms of the next steps of the interview process, it would be good to hear about the some of the technical features you've implemented on other sites. Following that, we'd like you to take a look at the site code and give us your thoughts on it's quality, structure and the overall architecture of the site.
