XML and XSLT

I have a XML schema (DTD) for a typical table that can be found on the Internet. The aim is to write a XSLT script to convert this schema into 4 different types/forms of tables. For example some tables may contain numeric data while others contain text. Also some may have column headings and row headings, while others may have only row headings. The structure of the table determines how an individual will read it. For example a table with column headings, row headings, and cells containing the data will be read as follows: Choose appropriate row heading. Reading from left to right: go across row, reading the column heading first, followed by data at this row-column intersection. Move to next row-column intersection and repeat the above process. Once data under all columns has been read, move onto next row heading and the repeat the whole process. Now write XSLT code to transform each of the above 4 table types into a linear form (preferably in HTML). This can now be read by software designed for the visually impaired that reads data only from left to right. So overall we have 4 XSLT scripts to transform each of the 4 table types into a linear format. The way they are transformed depends on how each table is read which in turn is determined by the table structure. Now I need to be able to cut and paste any random table from the Internet that fits into one of the 4 types of tables onto a blank page. This page should have 4 buttons, where each button represents each table type. Clicking the appropriate button should transform the pasted table type into a linear form. I am an undergraduate computer science student at university. I have been given 3 weeks to learn XML, XSLT and other XML-associated technologies to complete the above tasks. Therefore for someone with some basic knowledge of XML and XSLT this task should not take longer than a couple of days. Additionally there is no guarantee that each of the table types can be converted into a linear form. I would prefer if you were from the UK and willing to make either face-to-face or phone contact. All that is needed by you is a table DTD, which I think you can get off the Internet or even design one your-self. ## Deliverables Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
